Application of coROM

Reliability study for neutron fluxes calculations in the fast-neutron reactor

The goal of this test case is to predict the variation of the neutron flux created by a given variation of the enrichment inside the reactor core.

The percentage of enrichment can vary in 129 cells. The coROM model was built by learning from 40 examples simulated by ERANOS solver. Thus we have defeated the curse of dimensionality: the number of learning examples is considerably smaller than number of parameters.


Validation example. Comparison between the ERANOS simulation  and prediction obtained by coROM model for a given variation of the enrichment inside the reactor core.
